Lucy Wiens
Hello!
My name is Lucy Wiens, and I couldn't be more excited to share some exciting news with you! This coming January, I will be heading to Rome during the Jubilee as an missionary with ECYD Mission Corps. Serving as an apostle internationally has been a dream of mine for many years, and I can't wait to take this incredible step in my faith journey.
Currently, I'm in Grade 11 and have been homeschooled my entire life, which has been a wonderful blessing. Homeschooling has supported not only my academic growth but also my love for competitive swimming and the desire to fulfill my dream of going on mission during the school year. I am the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers whom I love dearly. Serving together as a family in our local Challenge and Conquest groups has been such a joy for us all. In my free time, you'll find me backpacking, writing letters, or diving into the pool!
Faith has always been central to my family's life. My parents have taught me to keep God at the forefront, and through them, I've learned to see life through the lens of faith. For me, ECYD is a way to put my faith into action. This is my fourth year as a Challenge Team Leader in our Okotoks parish, and through our training and weekly gatherings, I've grown so much in understanding how God calls each of us to use our unique gifts to serve in His body. Thanks to ECYD, I've had the chance to participate in various youth events, missions, and retreats, with Holy Week Missions being my absolute favorite. There, I've experienced the joy of helping those in need and comforting those how feel alone.
In January 2025, I will embark on this five-week mission to Rome. Your support in making this dream a reality would mean the world to me. I look forward to helping others encounter Jesus and deepen their friendship with Him. All donations are tax-deductible, and I am so grateful for any help you feel called to give.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and consider this opportunity. God bless you abundantly!
Your sister in Christ,
Lucy Wiens
