Feast of Christ the King 2020
Regnum Christi Celebration!
November 24, 2020
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
After reflecting on each of the recent Christ the King events that have taken place these last weeks, it is inspiring to consider the many beautiful opportunities we shared as a family to pray together virtually, to reunite once again and gaze upon our Lord, and hear of the many wonderful things He has done. The Mass was a gathering in solidarity; welcoming our newest members with a joy-filled sending out into the world to be the light of Christ. It seemed a fitting end to Parade the Streets of Calgary bringing the message of love to every person and place we went.
We are Regnum Christi! We have been prepared and commissioned for this moment in history “to make present the mystery of Christ who goes out to people, reveals the love of his heart to them, gathers them together and forms them as apostles and Christian leaders…..” statute #8. It seems more than ever, the world needs leaders, willing to stand up, stand out, and be counted. Leaders who are not afraid to be real, truth-filled, and humble. Those willing to demonstrate an authentic faith, a love for Christ and his people, who are grounded in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Christ has called each of us to this Sacred Vocation, to share in this Mission together. We learn from one another, rely on each other’s strengths, and share in the work given collectively. St John Paul II gave a resounding message to the world during his life here repeatedly affirming “Be Not Afraid! Be Not Afraid!” May each of us embrace this message deep into our core, and go forward, with Christ, who makes all things new.
Many thanks to Melissa DeGroot and her family as well as the Integration team and everyone who gave countless hours making an extraordinary event out of challenging circumstances. You make a difference!
Peace in Christ to all,
Father Kenneth Leblanc
